upon the approval of the Commissioner of the Land Office cer-
tifying that the work has been delivered according to the condi-
tions as set forth in the Act, payment hereinafter provided
shall be made to the said Mrs. George W. Hodges.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That for the purchase
hereinbefore mentioned fifteen hundred dollars ($1, 500. 00).
or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is

hereby appropriated to be paid out of the receipts into the
State Treasury not otherwise appropriated, and the Treasurer
of the State is hereby authorized and directed to pay said sum
upon the warrant of the Comptroller for the purposes herein-
before set forth.

CHAPTER 23.

AN ACT to authorize the Hart-Miller Islands Company, a body
corporate, to construct a bridge in Baltimore County, at its
own expense, connecting Hart Island with the mainland at
Williams Point Road.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Hart-Miller Islands Company, a body corporate,
is hereby authorized to construct, at its own expense, a bridge
in Baltimore County, connecting Hart Island with the main-
land at Williams Point Road, over the waters of Hawks Cove,
a distance of about one thousand feet, the plans and specifica-
tions and the erection thereof to be subject to the approval of
the Secretary of War of the United States of America, and the
Roads Engineer of Baltimore County.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public safety, and being passed upon
a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the mem-
bers elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assem-
bly, the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.
