SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1st, 1924

CHAPTER 164.

AN ACT to authorize the Police Commissioner of Baltimore
City to reinstate Nicholas Dorn as a member of the Balti-
more Police Department.

WHEREAS, Nicholas Dorn was appointed a member of the
Police Department of Baltimore City on April 15, 1912; and

WHEREAS, The said Nicholas Dorn resigned from the said
Police Department of Baltimore City to engage in war work
on May 13th, 1918; and

WHEREAS, The said Nicholas Dorn desires to be reinstated
in the said Police Department of Baltimore City, but because
he is now, on account of age, ineligible for reinstatement under
the present laws governing the appointment of members of the
Police Department of Baltimore City; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Police Commissioner of Baltimore City be and
he is hereby authorized and empowered, in his discretion, to
reinstate Nicholas Dorn as a member of the Police Depart-
ment of Baltimore City in the same grade occupied by him at
the time of his resignation therefrom.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1924.

CHAPTER 165.

AN ACT to authorize and direct the Police Commissioner of
Baltimore City to pay a pension to James G. Kiggins.

(Vetoed. )

CHAPTER 166.

AN ACT to authorize and direct the Police Commissioner of
Baltimore City to pay a pension to the widow of Sergt. John
F. Singer.

(Vetoed. )
