CHAPTER 92.

AN ACT to authorize the Police Commissioner of Baltimore
City to reinstate Carroll Hanley as a member of the Balti-
more Police Department.

WHEREAS, Carroll Hanley was appointed a member of the
Police Department of Baltimore City in August, 1909; and

WHEREAS, The said Carroll Hanley resigned from the said
Police Department in June, 1918; and

WHEREAS, The said Carroll Hanley desires to be reinstated
in the said Police Department of Baltimore City, but on ac-
count of his age he is ineligible for reinstatement under the
present laws governing the appointment of members of the
Police Department of Baltimore City.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Police Commissioner of Baltimore City be and
he is hereby authorized and empowered, in his discretion, to
reinstate Carroll Hanley as a member of the Police Depart-
ment of Baltimore City in the same grade occupied by him at
the time of his resignation therefrom.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1924.

Approved April 9, 1924.

CHAPTER 93.

AN ACT to authorize, empower and direct the Mayor and Com-
mon Council of Manchester, Carroll County, Maryland, to
provide for the construction, maintenance and operation of
a water supply system; to provide for the issuance of bonds
for the purpose of such construction, maintenance and opera-
tion and the levy of taxes, assessments and benefits, charges
and rates, for the payment of such bonds and the operation,
maintenance, regulation and control of said system; to pro-
vide for the right to purchase and condemn property, and for
other purposes.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Mayor and Common Council of Manchester be,
and they are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to
build and construct a water supply system for the town of
Manchester, Carroll County, State of Maryland, to be erected
