WHEREAS, The said Clarence I. Hayden desires to be rein-
stated in the said Police Department of Baltimore City, but
because he is now forty-five years of age he is ineligible for
reinstatement under the present laws governing the appoint-
ment of members of the Police Department of Baltimore City.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Police Commissioner of Baltimore City be and
he is hereby authorized and empowered, in his discretion, to
reinstate Clarence I. Hayden as a member of the Police Depart-
ment of Baltimore City in the same grade occupied by him at
the time of his resignation therefrom.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1924.

Approved April 9, 1924.

CHAPTER 82.

AN ACT to add a new section to the Charter of Westernport,
as enacted by Chapter 714 of the Acts of the General As-
sembly of Maryland of 1920, to follow Section 6 and to be
known as Section 6%, and to regulate the method and pro-
cedure for the registering of the qualified voters of the
Town of Westernport.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section to the Charter of Westernport as en-
acted by Chapter 714 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland of 1920 be and the same is hereby added to said
Charter, said new section to follow Section No. 6 and to be
known as Section No. 6½, and to regulate the method and
procedure for the registration of the qualified voters of the
Town of Westernport and to read as follows:

Section 6%. Whenever in the opinion of the Mayor and
Commissioners of Westernport a new general registration of
all of the qualified voters of said town is desirable, then the
advertisement and notice of registration provided to be given
in Section 6 shall clearly state the fact that all qualified voters
are required to again register, whereupon the old registration
lists shall be voided. At all other times the annual regis-

tration on the first Monday in February in each year shall be
for the purpose of registering only additional qualified voters
upon the lists maintained by the said Mayor and Commis-
