NO. 32.
Requesting the Governor to include in the budget to be sub-
mitted to the General Assembly of 1927 an item of five
hundred dollars for the purpose of defraying the cost of
painting a portrait of the late Colonel Edward Lloyd, an
ex-President of the Senate of Maryland.
WHEREAS, There now hang in the Senate Chamber of the
State House of Maryland, portraits of a number of ex-Presi-
dents of the Senate, now deceased; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate of Maryland, That the Governor of
Maryland be and he is hereby requested to include an item of
five hundred dollars ($500. 00) in the Budget that will be
prepared for the consideration of the General Assembly of
Maryland of 1927 to defray the cost of painting a portrait of
the late Colonel Edward Lloyd of Talbot County, who died
in October, 1905, who was President of the Senate of Mary-
land at the 1878 and the 1892 sessions of the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, presiding with great distinction.

NO. 33.
Relating to the suffering in the flooded area of the Potomac
River.
WHEREAS, The inhabitants of that portion of the State of
Maryland bordering on the Potomac River, have recently suf-
fered great loss of life and property by reason of the flood,
caused by the overflowing of the Potomac River;
WHEREAS, It is the desire of the General Assembly of Mary-
land to express to the people of our State, and particularly to
the people of those sections immediately bordering on the
Potomac River, heart-felt sympathy and grief; therefore be it
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, represented
by this General Assembly be, and it is hereby expressed and
extended to all that fair portion of our State which has suffered
from the recent devasting flood and overflowing of the Potomac
River.
