regulation require a greater width or size of yards, courts or
other open spaces, or require a lower height of building or a
less number of stories, or require a greater percentage of lot
to be left unoccupied, or impose other higher standards than
are required by the regulations made under authority of this
Act, the provisions of such statute or local ordinance or regu-
lation shall govern.
SEC. 10. And be it further enacted, That it shall be compe-
tent for the officers, commission and Board of Adjustment
herein named to specially exempt from any general ordinance
or order, any building or structure now or hereafter to be
erected, from the operations of the same, provided, such offi-
cers, commission or Board of Adjustment shall deem the said
building or its location necessary for the public welfare, but
always reserving the same right of successive appeal herein
contained relating to other matters.
SEC. 11. And be it further enacted. That this Act should
take effect from the first day of June, 1924.

CHAPTER 561.
AN ACT to add a new section, to be known as Section 64-A, to
Article 48-A of the Code of Public General Laws of Mary-
land, title "Insurance, " sub-title "Agents and Brokers. " said
new section to follow immediately after Section 64 of said
Article.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and the same is hereby added to
Article 48-A of the Public General Laws of Maryland, title
"Insurance, " sub-title "Agents and Brokers, " to follow imme-
diately after Section 64 of said Article and to be known as
Section 64-A and to read as follows:
Sec. 64-A. Before a license to operate in this State shall
be granted to any insurance broker by the Insurance Commis-
sioner or his Deputy, the applicant for such license of insur-
ance broker shall file with the Insurance Commissioner, a bond,
to be executed by a surety company authorized to do business
in this State, to the State of Maryland in the penalty of
$500. 00 if such applicant resides in one of the counties of this
State, and his application is for a license to act as insurance
