official conduct said Treasurer shall be responsible and who in
the absence of the Treasurer shall act in his place. Said deputy
shall receive a salary of $1, 500. 00 per annum, payable by the
County Commissioners of Wicomico County in monthly instal-
ments for every year he may serve as such deputy, or pro rata
for a part thereof.
If it shall become necessary to employ other Clerk or Clerks
in said office, the Treasurer, by and with the consent of the
County Commissioners, may employ same at a salary or
salaries to be fixed by said Commissioners. The Treasurer
shall be responsible for the official conduct of such Clerk or
Clerks so appointed by him.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1924.

CHAPTER 524.
AN ACT to authorize and direct the County Commissioners of
Montgomery County, Maryland, to issue bonds in the amount
of $75, 000, secured upon the property of the Fifth and
Eighth Election Districts of Montgomery County, Mary-
land, which amount of bonds are to be issued by the County
Commissioners of Montgomery County to build a road from
Brown's Corner to Ashton toward Brinklow in said election
districts.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Montgomery County,
Maryland, are hereby authorized and directed to issue bonds
in the amount of $75, 000 secured upon the property of the
Fifth and Eighth Election Districts of Montgomery County,
Maryland, the funds derived from the sale of which are to be
used to build a road from Brown's Corner to Ashton toward
Brinklow in said election districts of Montgomery County,
Maryland.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That these bonds will
be of the type commonly known as serial bonds, redeemable in
amounts and years in the discretion of the County Commis-
sioners of Montgomery County, but that no bond of this issue
shall run for a period to exceed twenty-five years and said
bonds shall be issued at such rate of interest as determined by
