nue; thence in a southerly direction along the center of Park
Avenue to the center line of an alley, which is parallel to and
130 feet southwest from the southwest side of John Street;
thence with the center line of said alley southeasterly 440
feet to the southeast side of Ivy Street; thence with the south-
east side of Ivy Street southwesterly 60 feet to the center line
of a second alley parallel to and 190 feet southwest from the
the southwest side of John Street; thence with the center line
of said alley southeasterly 991 feet more or less to the center
line of the Washington Railway and Electric Company's
tracks; thence in a northeasterly direction along the center
line of the Washington Railway and Electric Company's tracks
to the center line of John Street; thence leaving the boundary
line of the Town of North Brentwood and miming with the
center line of John Street in a northwesterly direction to the
center line of Banner Street; and thence with the center line
of Banner Street to the place of beginning.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That the officers of said
town shall consist of a Mayor, three Councilmen and Treas-
urer, Mayor and Treasurer to be elected by the combined vote
of the said town, and three Councilmen to be elected by their
respective wards, and such appointive officers as are herein-
after designated, or shall be appointed by the Mayor and Town
Council, and each officer appointed shall continue to hold office
for such term as the Mayor and Town Council shall desig-
nate, or until his successor is duly qualified. Before entering
upon the duties of his office, each officer shall take oath that
he will diligently and faithfully discharge all duties of his
office without favor, partiality or prejudice, and said oath
shall be filed among the records of said town.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That at the first elec-
tion of officers held under this Charter the qualified voters of
the town shall elect a Mayor and Treasurer to serve the term
of one year, and shall elect three Councilmen, one from each
ward, to be voted for by the qualified voters of each ward, two
to serve for the term of two years and one to serve for the term
of one year. At the first meeting the Mayor and Council shall
designate the time to be served each Councilman. At each
successive annual election the qualified voters of each ward in
which there is a vacancy shall elect a Councilman to serve for
two years, after which printed in the same county newspaper.
