SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1924.

AN ACT to provide for admission to the honor of Academician
of Maryland.

CHAPTER 489.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections 144,
147 and 148 of Offutt's Code of Public Local Laws of Balti-
more County, Edition of 1916, title "Baltimore County, "
sub-title "County Treasurer, " as said Sections 147 and 148
were repealed and re-enacted by Chapter 2 of the Acts of
1920, and said Sections 144, 147 and 148 were repealed and
re-enacted by the Acts of 1922, Chapter 166, relating to the
duties of the Treasurer of Baltimore County, the collection
of taxes in said county, and to notices in reference to said
taxes.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 144, 147 and 148 of Offutt's Code of Pub-
lic Local Laws of Baltimore County, Edition of 1916. title
"Baltimore County, " sub-title "County Treasurer, " be and the
same are hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments so
as to read as follows:
Section 144. It shall be the duty of the Treasurer, as soon as
the annual tax levy is made, to give notice thereof by advertise-
ment three different times in two newspapers having the
largest circulation published in Baltimore County and one in
Baltimore City. He shall prepare a mailing list having the
name and postoffice address of each taxpayer in Baltimore
County, so far as he is able to ascertain the same, which list
he shall correct from time to time to keep it up to date, and
shall mail to each taxpayer a bill for his taxes for the current
year during the months of January and February of each year.
He shall add to each tax bill four cents for mailing bill and
receipt when paid.
Section 147. The Treasurer shall during the months of
January and February in each year succeeding the year for
