taxes and fix his salary or compensation, and provide for a
method of collecting the taxes by ordinances and also the method
of making assessments, and any person aggrieved by any as-
sessment made under this provision shall have the right of ap-
peal to the said Mayor and Council of said town of Friendsville.
All town taxes shall be liens on the real estate of the party in-
debted from the time the same are levied to the same extent as
state and county taxes are liens and the said town taxes shall be
collectible in the manner as state and county taxes are collectible.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1924.

CHAPTER 61.
AN ACT to authorize the Adjutant General and the Board of
Public Works to sell or otherwise dispose of the lot of ground
situate in Anne Arundel County, now used as a State Rifle
Range and to authorize the said Adjutant General and the
Board of Public Works to use the proceeds of the said sale
for the construction of buildings and improvements on any
other land that may be purchased or leased for the use and
benefit of the Organized Militia of the State of Maryland.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Adjutant General and the Board of Public Works
be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to sell or
otherwise dispose of the tract of land located in Anne Arundel
County, known as Saunders Range and now used as a State
Rifle Range.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all monies arising
from the sale, or as the result of any action of the Adjutant
General and the Board of Public Works, who are hereby clothed
with all the rights and powers necessary to acquire by purchase,
condemnation or otherwise, ground in the State of Maryland,
under the authority granted to them under this Act, shall be
used by them for the purchase or condemnation of ground and
the construction of buildings thereon, and the improvement of
same or for the construction of buildings upon or the improve-
ment of any other land that may be leased or used by the Mil-
itary Department for the benefit and instruction of the Organ-
ized Militia of the State of Maryland.
