the officers and directors of the said body corporate whose pur-
pose it is to strengthen Orthodox Judaism in the City of
Baltimore, in that the said Association is to devote itself to
religious work, according to their persuasion, for the works of
charity, piety, usefulness and for the purpose of providing
its constituents an opportunity of practising their religion ac-
cording to the rites, rituals, laws and customs of Orthodox
Judaism by the proper observance of Kasrus and the trading of
their Youth according to their tradition; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Reverend Doctor Schepsel Schaffer, Rabbis
Abraham K. Schwartz, Rabbi Reuben Rivkin, Israel S. Gom-
borov, Doctor Jacob W. Lubchansky, Messrs. Philip W. Gun-
dersheimer, Israel Silberstein, Abraham Fingelstein, Wolf
Cohn, Simon Rief, Tanchum Silberman, Doctor Moses Seidel,
Harry Schlossberg, Julius Traub, Tobias Miller, Jacob Siegel,
Louis Cordish and Hyman Koppelman, and their successors
and assigns, be and they are hereby created a body corporate by
the name of "The Council of Orthodox Jewish Congregations
of Baltimore, " and by that name shall have perpetual succes-
sion, and shall have such powers as are conferred upon religious
corporations, incorporated under the General Laws, of the
State of Maryland, as may reasonably be necessary to carry out
the objects and purposes and to protect the interests of the said
body corporate and to exercise the powers by this Act conferred
upon it.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said corporation
shall have a Board of Directors and that the Reverend Doctor
Schepsel Schaffer, Rabbis Abraham N. Schwartz, Reuben Riv-
kin. Mr. Israel S. Gomborov, Doctor Jacob W. Lubchansky,
Messrs. Philip W. Gundersheimer, Israel Silberstein, Abraham
Finkelstein, Wolf Cohn, Simon Rief, Tanchum Silberman,
Doctor Moses Seidel, Harry Schlossberg, Julius Traub, Tobias
Miller, Jacob Siegel, Louis Cordish and Hyman Koppelman
are the names of the Directors who shall serve for the first year
or until their successors are duly elected and qualified.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the said corporation
be and it is hereby authorized and empowered to have super-
vision over the sale of Kosher meat and other eatables which
are to be prepared in accordance with the Jewish Orthodox
laws, ritual, rules and regulations.
