SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Montgomery County
be and they are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to
pay to the County Commissioner, or other individual acting
as Superintendent of the County Farm, a yearly salary of six
hundred ($600) dollars, payable monthly, and the said County
Commissioners of Montgomery County are hereby further di-
rected to include said salary in the annual levy for taxes in
Montgomery County.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 30. 1924.

CHAPTER 446.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections 768
and 768A of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (Edition of 1915), title "City of Baltimore, " sub-
title "Police Commissioner, " (Section 768 having been
amended by Chapter 540 of the Acts of 1920), increasing
the compensation of the matrons and charwomen of the Bal-
timore City Police Department.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 768 and 768A of Article 4 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (Edition of 1915), title "City
of Baltimore, " sub-title "Police Commissioner, " (Section 768
having been amended by Chapter 540 of the Acts of 1920), be
and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments
to read as follows:
768. Each of said matrons, and substitute matrons when
employed, shall receive a salary of twenty-seven dollars and
fifty cents per week and the Superintendent of Matrons a sal-
ary of thirty dollars per week to be paid by the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore and it shall be included in the an-
nual estimate of expenses by the said Police Commissioner
certified by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore.
768A. The Police Commissioner for the City of Baltimore
is hereby authorized to employ such number of women as
charwomen for the several station-houses in the City of Balti-
more as may in the judgment of said Police Commissioner be
necessary to care for the said station-houses; and the said char-
