alternately from year to year thereafter; said election shall be
held annually on the first Saturday of April, at such place as
shall be designated by the Mayor and Common Council, be-
tween the hours of one o'clock and four o'clock P. M.

68. The Mayor shall give at least two weeks' notice of the
election, and shall appoint three persons as judges of election;
and the said judges shall have power to appoint a clerk, who
shall keep a record of the persons voting and the persons voted
for; and the persons having the highest number of votes for
the several offices of Mayor and Common Council shall be de-
clared duly elected. In case of a tie vote, at any election after
the election in the year 1925, the Mayor shall give ten days'
notice of the new election to decide the choice between the par-
ties having such tie vote.

69. The judges and clerk of election shall notify the per-
sons elected of their election, and the persons so elected shall
severally hold their respective offices from the first Saturday
of April in each and every year next ensuing the election, for
and during the term of two years (except the three members of
the Council to be elected in April, 1925, who shall hold for one
year), and until their successors shall be duly elected and
qualified.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1924.

CHAPTER 438.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 3
and 6 of the charter of the Mutual Fire Insurance Com-
pany in Harford County, as said sections were amended by
Chapter 294 of the Acts of 1922, and to repeal and re-enact
with amendments. Section 10 of said Charter, as said sec-
tion was amended by Chapter 333 of the Acts of 1904,
enlarging the powers of said corporation.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 3 and 6 of the charter of the Mutual Fire
Insurance Company in Harford County, as said sections were
amended by Chapter 294 of the Acts of 1922, be and they are
