davit shall be accompanied by properly itemized vouchers or
certificates showing from whom and for what purpose the same
was made. The said Sheriff shall also include in said monthly
report, a full statement of all fines and costs by him collected.
and shall pay the same over promptly to the county treasurer.
Any violation of the requirements of this Act or failure to com-
ply herewith shall constitute a misdemeanor, and shall be pun-
ished upon conviction by forfeiture of office or fine or imprison-
ment, or by all three, in the discretion of the Court.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the County Commis-
sioners of Garrett County, be and they are hereby authorized
and empowered to pay the present incumbent of the office of
Sheriff ninety cents per day for boarding and keeping each
prisoner committed to the county jail during his present term
of office, and that all payments that have been made to said
Sheriff at this rate be and they are hereby confirmed and made
valid to the same extent as if the County Commissioners had had
the power to do so when the payments were made.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1924.

CHAPTER 55.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 5 of
Chapter 698 of the Acts of General Assembly of Maryland,
passed at the January session, 1912, entitled "An Act au-
thorizing and directing the Governor of this State to desig-
nate one of the justices of the peace appointed in and for
the Seventh Election District of Dorchester County as a po-
lice justice, and defining the duties and fixing the compen-
sation of such police justice. "
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of "Mary-
land, That Section 5 of Chapter 698 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland, passed at the January session. 1912,
entitled "An Act authorizing and directing the Governor of
this State to designate one of the justices of the peace appointed
in and for the Seventh Election District of Dorchester County
as police justice, and defining the duties and fixing the com-
pensation of such police justice", be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
