the County Home and there remain until the next meeting of
the Commissioners as a body, at which time they shall deter-
mine whether or not the said person shall remain there longer.

41TT. The County Commissioners shall have full power and
authority to receive into the County Home all such lunatics,
insane, feeble-minded, crippled, aged persons and paupers as
may be committed thereto by any of the Courts of this State and
also such lunatics, insane, feeble-minded, crippled, or aged per-
sons and paupers as may be placed in, said County Home by
their friends for safe peeping or treatment and shall be entitled
to receive as compensation for the board, treatment and sup-
port of such persons, such compensation as may be reasonable
and just, to be paid by the County Commissioners of the Coun-
ties from which said persons may be sent, when committed by
order of any Court and to be paid by the friends, relations,
trustees or committees of such persons when placed there by
their friends, relations, trustees or committees.

41UU. All the fines, penalties and forfeitures imposed by this
sub-title of this Act shall be recovered in the Circuit Court by
action of debt or indictment for the use of the County Home.

41VV. All sheriffs, constables and other officers shall assist
the County Commissioners and the Superintendent and other
officers appointed by them in the discharge of their respective
duties.

41WW. If any person shall be sued or prosecuted for any-
thing done in pursuance of this sub-title of this Article or any-
thing therein contained, he may plead the general issue and
give the special matter in evidence: and if upon trial a verdict
shall be found for defendant, or the plaintiff be non-suited or
discontinue, the defendant shall receive treble costs, and if the
plaintiff shall be unable to pay them, they shall be paid by the
attorney who brought or prosecuted the suit, unless the plain-
tiff shall give security for them, to be approved by the Court.

41XX. The County Commissioners be and they are hereby
authorized, empowered and directed to raise the funds neces-
sary for the purchase of the County Farm, for the building
of the County Home, if it becomes necessary to build one, for
the erection on the County Farm of such outbuildings, fences,
etc., as they deem necessary and for supplying the necessary
equipment, furniture, farming implements and live stock, by
issuing bonds of the County, either coupon or serial, for such
