1020 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 390

Secretary Commissioner or before a justice of the peace or
other officer or person (including a notary public) authorized
by law to administer oaths in said county. Such oaths, or a
certified copy of the same, shall be kept among the town records.

(K) That said town Treasurer, before entering upon the
duties of his office, shall take oath, before the Secretary Com-
missioner or before a justice of the peace or other officer or per-
son (including a notary public) authorized to administer oaths
in Prince George's County, that he will diligently, faithfully
and honestly discharge all the duties of his office, and also shall
give bond to the Town of Cottage City, with such surety or
sureties as said Commission may by resolution require, in the
sum of One Thousand Dollars. The cost of said bond shall be
paid out of town funds. Said bond, or a certified copy thereof,
and said oath of office, or a certified copy thereof, shall be kept
among the town records.

(L) That said Commission may, by resolution unanimous-
ly adopted, remove any person from the office of town Treasurer
whenever in the judgment of said Commission the welfare of
said town requires such action. And any person accepting the
office of town Treasurer, by so accepting said office, consents
and agrees that said Commission has such power so to remove
him from office and of finally terminating any right on his part
to hold the office of or to act as town Treasurer, and of finally
terminating any right on his part to receive further salary or
compensation, and of finally terminating any rightvon his part
to receive or hold any funds, money, property, records, books,
papers or other things or thing of said town. And the person
so removed from the office of town Treasurer shall turn over to
said Commission or to the Secretary Commissioner any and all
funds, money, property, records, books, papers and other things or
thing of said town in his possession within five (5) days (includ-
ing Sundays and holidays) after he shall have been notified of the
adoption of such resolution so removing him from office, which
said notice may be served by said Commission either personally
by any of said Commissioners or by the posting of a copy of
said resolution at the last regular meeting place of said Com-
mission. And any person, so removed from such office of town
Treasurer, who shall fail or neglect so to turn over to said Com-
mission, or to the Secretary Commissioner all funds, money, prop-
erty, records, books, papers and other things and thing of said
town in his possession, shall be liable, and the surety or sure
ties on his bond shall be liable, for any loss or damage that
