lease the same as in their judgment and discretion shall be
deemed best for the interests of the town.
SEC. 13. And be it further enacted, That no ordinance passed
by the Town Commissioners shall go into effect until after the
expiration of thirty days after its passage, unless otherwise pro-
vided by the laws of this State. If within thirty days from the
date of its passage, a petition protesting against it signed by one-
half as many voters as voted at the last general election shall be
filed with the Town Clerk such ordinance shall be suspended,
and the Town Commissioners shall consider it, and if it be not
repealed the Town Commissioners shall submit it to a vote of
the duly qualified voters of said town at the next election, pro-
vided, however, that if the next election shall occur more than
ninety days thereafter, the Town Commissioners shall call a spe-
cial election for the purpose of deciding whether such proposed
ordinance shall or shall not become a law, and the same shall
become operative or repealed by a majority of the votes cast at
this election.
SEC. 14. And be it further enacted, That this Charter shall
not become effective unless it shall be submitted to the qualified
voters as above prescribed, living within the prescribed limits of
said town of Boulevard Heights as set forth in Section 2 of this
Act and accepted by a majority of said voters at an election held
for this purpose on the second day of August, 1924. Provided,
further, that said election shall be held on said date at such
polling place as shall be provided in accordance with Section 15
of this Act between the hours of five and eight P. M. and the
manner of submission shall be that on the ballots at this election
shall be printed the words "For Incorporation" with blank
square opposite at the right and the words '' Against Incorpora-
tion" with a blank square opposite at the right, and all quali-
fied voters desiring to vote for the provisions of this Act shall
place a cross mark (X) in the square opposite the words "For
Incorporation" and all qualified voters desiring to vote against
the provisions of this Act shall put a cross mark (X) opposite the
words " Against Incorporation. '' If at such election a greater
number of persons shall vote "For Incorporation" than shall
vote "Against Incorporation" then the provisions of the fore-
going shall become operative.
SEC. 15. And be it further enacted, That Frank Smith and
Raymond Sammons are hereby appointed judges and S. E.
Johnson is hereby appointed Clerk of Election to be held on the
