knowledge of her body and to begett then and there a bastard Child on the
body of her the Same Elizabeth to the high displeasure of Almighty God to
the Evil Example of all others in such case offending contrary to the peace
of the said Lord prop.ry his good rule and Government and against the
form of the Act of Assembly in that case made and provided    T francis
        The same Indictment was endorsed as foll. viz.t True bill by
                                                                        Rob.t Dunn foreman

    And now here at this Court to wit at Kent County at the Court House in the
Town of Chester in Said County on the third tuesday in June being the
eighteenth day of Said Month Anno Dom. One Thousand Seven hundred
and thirty four Came the afd Lord prop.ry by Tench Francis his att.ry
and the afd Elizabeth Evans in her proper person and his Lordship
by his att.ry afd prays that the afd Elizabeth may to the Indictment afd
answer And The afd Elizabeth in her proper person saith that She
cannot gainsay the Indictment afd so as afd against her brought
nor can She Say but that She is guilty of the premisses above upon
her Imposed as by the afd Indictment it is alledged And Thereupon
Submits to the Court            Therefore it is Considered by the Justices
here to wit the same day and year last above mentioned That the
afd Elizabeth Evans pay the Sume of thirty Shillings Current money
as a fine for Commiting the fornication afd in form afd Confest and also
pay the sum of two hundred and Sixty three pounds of Tobacco costs accrueing
on the premisses afd to the officers of this Court

    Ordered by this Court that the fine afd be Immediately delivered in
John Gresham hands Sherf of the afd Kent County for the use of the
County

Sworn to declare who was the begitter of the afd bastard
Child She bore  Thereupon being Sworn declare
That a Certain Benjamin Cleaver was the begitter

Ordered by this Court that Information be Exhibited against
the afd Benjamin for Commiting the fornication afd &c.a

    The afd Benjamin Cleaver at last Court held for Kent County on the third tuesday
in March the same Benj.a entered into Recognizance in the Sum of ten
