three to the Sherrif of Kent County that he Should take Elizabeth Maxfield
late of S.t pauls parish in the County afd Spinster if She should be
found in his bailiwick an her Safe keep so that he have her body
before the Justices of our next County Court to be held at our Court house in
the Town of Chester in Said County on the third tuesday in June then
next ensueing to Answer unto a Certain Indictment for Commiting
fornication and being begett with a Child of a bastard Contrary &c.a And
that the same Sherriff have at the said Court the same writt &c.a

    Att which Said Court to wit at Kent County at the Court House in the
Town of Chester in Said County on the third tuesday in June being the
Eighteenth day of Said Month Anno Dom. one Thousand seven hundred and
thirty four being the day of return of said writ came John Gresham
Gentl. Sherrif of Kent County and made return thereof to the Court
here endorsed as foll.s viz.t Cepi Corpus p Jn.o Gresham Sher.

    And now here at the said Court The afd Elizabeth being called came
and in her proper person appeared and was ordered to give Security
for her appearance at Next Aug.st Court to answer unto an Indictm.t of
fornication

    Upon which the afd Elizabeth Maxfield late of Kent County Spinster
in her proper person in Court came and acknowledged herself Indebted to
the Right Hon.rble the Lord prop.ry in the Sum of five pounds
Sterl. to be made and Leveyed on her body goods and Chattles Lands
and Tenements to the use of his said Lordship his heirs and Successors
Conditionally That if She doth not make her personall appearance
at the next Court to be held for said County on the third tuesday
in August then next ensueing to answer unto an Indictment for
Committing fornication &c.a    And that ________ acknowledges herself
to be therewith Content

    And also at the same time came Benjamin Ricaud of Kent County
planter in Court in his proper person came and acknowledged
himself indebted to the right honourable the Lord prop.ry in the
Sum of five pounds Sterling to be made and Leveyed on his
body Goods and Chattles Lands and Tenements to the use of his said
Lordship his heirs and Successors Conditionally that if the afd
Elizabeth Maxfield shall not make her personall appearance at
the next Court to be held for said County on the third tuesday in August
then next Ensueing to Answer unto an Indictment for Commiting
