497 Thereupon Command Was Given to the Sherriff of Kent County that he immediately Cause to come here twelve &c.a by whom &c.a who neither &c.a To Recognize &c.a because as well &c.a of which Said precept the Said Sherrif to wit John Gresham Gentl. now here at this day to wit the Nineteenth day of March Anno Dom. One Thousand Seven hundred and thirty four makes Return that he hath here ready twelve &c.a As by his precept he was Commanded and now here afterwards to wit the day and Year last mentioned Came againe the afd the Lord prop.ry by his attorney afd and the afd Mary Jones in her proper persons and the Jurors of that Jury being Impannelled and called Likewise Came to wit Thomas Smith Richard Gresham Morgan Hurtt John Carvil Bulman Medford Alexander Brisco William Woodland John Rogers Henry Spencer John Cooper Thomas Wiat and Arthur Miller who being duely Elected tryed and Sworn to Say the truth in the premisses the Same Mary Jones in her proper person appears And the Same Jurors upon their Oath Do say Mary Jones afd is not guilty as She Stands Indicted and by Thomas Smith there foreman all Say Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at Kent County at the Court House in the Town of Chester in Said County on the third tuesday in March being the Nineteenth day of Said Month Anno Dom. One Thousand Seven hundred and thirty three That the afd Mary Jones as to the Indictment afd She go thereof without day And it is also Considered by the Justices afd That the Same Mary Jones pay the Sum of One Thousand One hundred and ten pounds of Tobacco Cost accrueing on the premisses afd to the officers of this Court And now here at this day the Same day by his attry afd and prays that the Same Mary Jones may give Security for the fees afd to the officers of this Court And ^thereupon the Court orders^ that John Gresham Gentl. Sherrif of Kent County keep the afd Mary in Safe Custody untill the fees afd Shall be Satisfied
Kent County fs.t The Jurors for the Right honourable the Lord prop.ry that now is for the Body of Kent County afd upon There oath do present that Mary Jones late of S.t pauls Parish in the County afd Spinster the tenth Day of December Anno Dom. Seventeen Hundred and thirty three at the parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court with Force and Arms one pair _____ womans Gloves of the value of thirty pounds of Tobacco of the goods and Chattles of a Certain Francis Bellowes then and there being found then and there feloniously did steal take and bear away contrary to the peace of the said Lord Prop.ry that now is his good Rule and Government and against the form of the Act of Assembly in such case made and provided &c.a Test John Cann jun.r James Cann Mary the wife of Francis Bellowes T francis Christopher Bateman |
