At which Said Court to wit at Kent County at the Court House in the Town
of Chester in Said County on the Same third tuesday in March as afd
Came John Gresham Gent Sherrif of Said County and made return
to the Court here thereof endorsed as foll. viz.t Cepi Corpus p

Kent County fs  The Jurors for the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary
that now is for Kent County afd upon their Oath do present that Dorcus Cleaver
Late of S.t Pauls Parish in the County afd Spinster the tenth day of August
Anno Domini Seventeen hundred thirty & two at S.t Pauls Parish afd in the
County afd within the Jurisdicion of this Court Did Commit fornication with
a person to the Jurors afd unknown and Did permit the Same Unknown
person then and there to have Carnal knowledge of her body and to beget
then and there a Bastard Child on the body of her the Same Dorcas to the
high Displeasure of Almighty God to the Evil Example of all others in Such
Case offending Contrary to the peace of the Said Lord proprietarie that
now is his Good Rule and Government and against the form of the Act of
Assembly in Such Case made and Provided        T francis Cler. pac.

    The Same Indictment was endorsed as foll. viz.t  True Bill p
                                                                    Simon Wilmer foreman

    And the afd Dorcas Cleaver in her proper persons comes and Saith that
She Cannot gainsay the Indictment afd So as afd against her brought nor
but that She is guilty of the premisses above upon her Imposed as by the
afd Indictment it is alledged  And thereupon Submits to the Court  Therefore
it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at Kent County at the Court
House in the Town of Chester in Said County on the third tuesday in March
being the twentieth day of Said Month Anno Dom. One thousand Seven
hundred and thirty two  That the afd Dorcas Clever pay the Sum of
Thirty Shillings Current money of the province of Maryland as a fine
for Committing the fornication afd in form afd Confest and the Sum
of two hundred and fifteen                        pounds of tobacco fees
accruing on the premisses afd to the officers of this Court

    The afd Dorcas Cleaver Sworn to the Court generally to declare
the begiter on which declares James Ringgold the Son of Charles
