221 Said County on the third tuesday in June being the fifteenth day of Said County Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and thirty one came the afd Thomas Baker and in his proper person appeared &c.a Kent County fs Memorand.m that Tench Francis attorney of the Right Hon.rble the Lord prop.ry that now is for the County afd who for the Same Lord prop.ry in this part followeth doth come into the County Court of the Said Lord prop.ry held for Kent County afd at Chester Town in the Same County before William Frisby Esq.r and his associates his Said Lordships Justices of the Same Court to wit on the Sixteenth day of March Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred & thirty & for the Same Lord prop.ry doth give the Same Justices do understand & be informed that Thomas Baker late of Saint Pauls Parish in the County afd planter the thirtieth day of January in the year afd at the County afd did make his note in writing called a promissory note with the proper hand of the Said Thomas Subscribed bearing date the Same day & year last mentioned and that Note unto William Boyer of the Same County planter then and there did deliver by which Said Note the Same Thomas did promise to pay unto the Said William thirty & two Shillings Current money of Maryland And the afd Attorney of the Said Lord prop.ry doth give the Same Justices here further to understand and be informed that the afd Thomas afterward to wit the Same thirtieth day of January in the year afd the premisses well knowing at the parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdicon of this Court minding & fraudulently intending to be of no force and effect falsly unlawfully Subtilly & deceitfully the premisses note afd into the hands & possession of him the Said Thomas with force and Arms did obtain & then & there with force and Arms falsly unlawfully unjustly fraudulently & deceitfully without the licence and against the will of the Said William the Same note did tear lacerate & mangle to the great deceit prejudice and defrauding of the Said William to the Evil & pernicious example of all others in Such case offending and against the peace of the Same Lord prop.ry his good rule and government Wherefore the Same Attorny of the Said Lord prop.ry for the Same Lord prop.ry prayeth the advice of the Court here in the premisses & due process of law against the Said William in this part to issue to answer unto the Same Lord prop.ry of and upon the premisses &c.a T francis Cler. pac. And the afd Thomas Baker in his proper person comes and Saith that he Cannot gainsay the Information afd So as afd against him brought nor but that he is guilty of the premisses above upon him Imposed as by he afd it is alledged and thereupon Submits to the Court Therefore it is Considered by the |
