183 thereupon the Same Charles Smith in his proper person came into Court and did acknowledge himself Indebted to The Right Hon.rble the Lord prop.ry in the Sum of tenn Thousands pounds of Tobacco to the use of his Said Lord Ship his heirs and Successors to be made and Leveyed on his body goods and Chattles Lands and Tenements Conditionally That if he doth not make his personall appearance at the next Court to be held for Said County att the Court House in the Town of Chester in Said County on the third tuesday in June next to answer unto what Shall be objected against him on account of his Marrying out of this province Contrary to an Act of Assembly in Such case made &c.a And in the mean time he is to be of good behaviour wherewith he acknowledges himself Content Edward Condry & Rachel Gallaway Sworn to the Grand Jury at Sute of his Ldship
Sherf & made return of his precept Endorsed Cepi Corpus p Jo Young Sher And the afd Samuel being called came and in his proper person & appeared And the Court haveing informed him of the base Vile and Scandalous words in derision of the Court The afd Sam.l Saith he was in an Angry humor and that he might lett fall Same in regard Expressions On which he Submits to the Court The Court haveing heard the whole affair It is Considered by the Court here that The afd Samuel Stoneman pay the Sum of Six hundred pounds of Tobacco for his Crime in offending as afd Confest And also pay the Sum of Six hundred pds Tob.o it being the fine afd and the Sum of Ninety Nine pds Tob.o the fees afd and thereupon the Same Samuel is disch.d |
