That the Sherf of Kent County take the afd Patrick Carwack and Execute the Punishment in the
Judgm.t afd Specified And afterwards to bring him into Court againe Off which Said Precept the Sherf
of Said County to wit Joseph Young Gent high Sherf of Kent County makes return on the day and
year last mentioned  That he hath Executed the Punishm.t in the ^afd^ Judgment and also hath
here the afd Pat Carwack before the Court

    Ordered by the Court here That Joseph Young Gent high Sherf of Said County being
psent in Court keep the afd Patrick Carwack in Custody untill the fees afd Shall be
Satisfied

    Rachel Clarke being an Evidence in the afd Cause being Sworn in Court Saith that She
attended the Court in the Same Cause Six days as an Evid.c  Ordered by the Court here that the
Said Patrick pay unto the afd Rachel the Sume of One hundred and Eighty pds tob.o for
her Attendance as afd

Kent County fs The jurors for the right hon.rble the Lord proprietarie that
now is for the body of Kent County afd upon their Oath do present that
Patrick Carwack late of S.t pauls parish in the County afd planter the
tenth day of October Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred twenty and Nine
with force and Armes at the parish afd in the County afd within the jurisdicon of this Court one Shirt of
the value of forty pounds of tobacco of the goods and Chattles of a Certain Charles Baker then and
there being found then and there feloniously did Steale take and bear away contrary to the peace
of the Act of Assembly in Such Case lately made and provided

On the back of the preceeding Indictm.t was endorst as foll. viz.t Bella Vera pine Tho.s Hynson foreman

    And the afd Patrick Carwack in his proper person comes and Saith that he is in no Sort
guilty of the premisses above upon him Imposed as by the afd Indictm.t it is alledged and
thereof he putteth himselfe upon the Country            Patrick Carwack In p.rp.r pson

    And he who followeth for the Lord propry in like manner Saith he is guilty    T ffrancis

    Thereupon Command was given to the Sherf of Kent County That he Immediately cause to come here
twelve &c.a who neither &c.a To Recognize &c.a Because as well &c.a By whom &c.a Off which Said
precept the Said Sherf to wit Joseph Young Gent now here at this day to wit the Sixteenth
day of June Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and thirty came and made return thereof that
he had here ready twelve as by his pcept he was Commanded And now here afterwards
to wit the Same day and Year last mentioned came againe as well his s.d Ldship by his Attry afd
and the Said Patrick in his proper person And the Jurors of that Jury being Impannelled
and called likewise came to wit James Thomas Charles Smith John Cooper William Deane Jere.h
Covington James Ringgold jun.r Nich.o Reyley George Skill John Tucker Henry Trulock Tho.s
Hatchenson & Thomas Husbands who being duely Elected tryd and Sworn to Say the truth in
the pmisses upon their Oath do Say That the afd Patrick Carwack is guilty of the felony
whereof he Stands Indicted and by James Thomas there foreman all So Say  Therefore it
is Considered by the Justices here to wit at the Court House in the Town of Chester in Said
County on the third tuesday in June being the Sixteenth day of Said Month Anno Dom. Seventeen
hundred and thirty  That the Said Patrick Carwack Stand in the pillory for the Space
of a quarter of an hour and then to Receive at the publick whipping post eight Lashes
well laid on his bare back tell the blood appears as a punishment for the Crime afd of Committing
