gainsay the Indictment afd So as afd against her brought nor but that She is guilty of the
premises above upon her imposed as by the afd Indictment it is alledged and Thereupon
Submits to the Court  Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit
at the Court House in the Town of Chest.r in Said County on the third tuesday in March
being the Seventeenth day of Said Month Anno Dom Seventeen hundred twenty Nine
That The afd Martha Byrum have five Lashes on her bare back tell the blood app.r
As a punishm.t for Committing the offence of fornication as afd and also pay the
Sume of two hundred and Eight one pounds of Tobacco Cost accruing on the premises
afd to the officers of this Court

    It is Considered by the Court here at this day to wit the day and Year last
mentioned  That the Sherf of Kent County take the afd Martha Byrum into his Custody
and Execute the punishm.t in the Judgm.t afd Specified and afterwards to bring her into Court
againe of which pcept the Said Sherf to wit Joseph Young Gent high Sherf of Kent Coty
makes return on the day and year afd last Said That he hath Executed the Said Judgment
and also hath here the Said Martha Byrum before the Court

at the parish afd in the County afd within the Jurorsdiction of
this Court did Commit fornication with a Certain person to the Jurors afd unknown &
did permit the same unknown Person then and there to have Carnal knowledge
of her body and to beget then and there a Bastard child on the body of her y.e same
Elizabeth To the high Displea Of Almighty Good to the Evil Example
of all others in Such Case Offending Contrary to y.e peace of y.e s.d L.d prop.ry y.t
now is his good Rule and Governm.t and against the form of the act of Assembly
