Dollars ($500.00), and they shall be exempt from, State, County,
and Municipal taxation in Maryland. The bonds shall be num-
bered serially and the first bond shall be due and payable in
three years from date of issue and the others seriatim, one or
two at the option of the Commissioners of Denton, each year
until paid.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That the Commis-
sioners of Denton be and are hereby authorized and directed to
levy each year an additional tax of Ten Cents on the Hundred
Dollars on all the taxable property within the corporate limits
of the town of Denton, Maryland, to meet the interest and prin-
cipal of said notes or bonds as they fall due, and no part of the
revenue thus derived may be used for any other purpose; pro-
vided that any balance of such fund remaining after all the
obligations authorized by this Act have been met, may be turned
into the general funds of the town.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act is an
emergency law and necessary for the immediate preservation
of the public health and safety, and having been passed by a
yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all the members
elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the
same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 447.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 33 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland, title "Elections": the same providing
that signatures on petitions for the election of charter
boards shall be obtained within six months of the date of
filing such petitions.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, that a new section be and the same is hereby added to
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, title "Elec-
tions", said new section to'be numbered 43A, to follow im-
mediately after Section 43, and to read as follows:

43A. No petition for the election of a charter board, under
the provisions of Article XIA of the Constitution of Maryland,
title "Local Legislation", shall be accepted or filed by the
