CHAPTER 286.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 4 of
Chapter 149 of the Acts of 1902, providing for the election
of the Commissioners of the town of Federalsburg.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 4 of Chapter 149 of the Acts of 1902 relat-
ing to the town of Federalsburg, be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted with amendments to read as follows:
4. The citizens of Federalsburg who have resided in said
town for six months previous to the day of election and who
are qualified in other respects to vote for delegates to the Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland, shall on the fourth Monday of
April, 1922, between the hours of one and five o'clock P. M.,
at such place as the commissioners of said town shall appoint,
elect by ballot five persons, residents and qualified voters of
said town, as Commissioners of Federalsburg. The Commis-
sioner receiving the highest number of votes shall hold office
for a period of three years; the two receiving the next highest
number of votes shall hold office for a period of two years
and the two receiving the next highest number of votes shall
hold office for a period of one year and if at said election,
there should be a tie between two or more candidates with
the highest number of votes, the one to hold office for three
years shall be publicly determined by lot, after due notice to
the parties interested by the Judges of Election, and if at said
election there shall be a tie between three or more candidates
with the next highest number of votes, the two to hold office for
two years shall be publicly determined by lot after due notice
aforesaid, and if at said eleeton there should be a tie between
three or more candidates with the next highest number of votes,
the two to hold office for one year shall be publicly determined
by lot after due notice as aforesaid. At the election to be held
on the fourth Monday of April, 1923, between the hours of 1
and 5 o'clock P. M., there shall be two commissioners elected
for a period of three years and two commissioners for a like
period every tliree years thereafter; at the election to be held
on the fourth Monday of April, 1924, between the hours of 1
and 5 o'clock P. M., there shall be two commissioners elected
for a period of three years and two commissioners for a like
period every three years thereafter; at the election to be held
on the fourth Monday of April, 1925, between the hours of 1
and 5 o'clock P. M., there shall be one commissioner elected for
