der this subtitle, excessive charges for product, service or facili-
ties, proceedings before said commission and proceedings in
any court mentioned in this sub-title, and any and all other sec-
tions, paragraphs, provisions and parts of this sub-title in ref-
erence to any other corporations subject to any of its provisions,
so far as the same shall be practically, legally or necessarily
applicable to telephone or telegraph companies or corporations
controlling telephone or telegraph lines in this State are hereby
made applicable to such telephone and telegraph companies and
to corporations controlling telephone and telegraph lines, and
shall have full application thereto; and telephone and telegraph
corporations, domestic or foreign, shall have the right to pur-
chase or acquire, take or hold, the capital stock issued by any
telephone or telegraph corporations, organized or existing un-
der and by virtue of the laws of this State, but only as is pro-
vided with respect to railroad corporations and street railroad
corporations by Section 438 of this Article, and as is provided
with respect to gas corporations and electrical corporations by
Section 449 of this Article.

CHAPTER 279.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections 70
and 71 of Article 72 of the Annotated Code of Maryland,
title "Oysters," said sections relating to special oyster in-
spectors and inspection tax on oysters.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 70 and 71 of Article 72 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland, title "Oysters," be and the same are hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments, so as to read as
follows:

Section 70. The Conservation Commission, at the com-
mencement of or during the oyster season in each year, as
needed, shall appoint from the counties producing oysters for
packing purposes in the State, not exceeding twenty spe-
cial inspectors at a salary of sixty dollars per month,
while actually employed during the oyster season, and they
shall be stationed at such places as in the judgment of said
Commission their services may be needed. There shall also
be appointed by the Commission not over five special inspectors
