not exceednig six, additional constables for Montgomery
County at large on the first Tuesday of the month of July in
the year 1922 for a term of two years from the date of the
appointment, and the County Commissioners shall on the first
Tuesday of July in every second year thereafter appoint three
or more, not exceeding six, additional constables for Mont-
gomery County at large for a term of two years, but said
County Commissioners shall have the power and authority
at any and all times to remove any one of said constables so
appointed at the pleasure of the board with or without cause or
notice, said constables so appointed to be known as and desig-
nated as Montgomery County Police.

SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That the County Commis-
sioners of Montgomery County shall designate one of the said
constables so appointed as Chief of the Montgomery County
Police at a salary not to exceed the sum of $1800.00 per an-
num, payable monthly, and in addition to said salary the
County Commissioners are authorized to allow to said Chief
of Police the sum of $300.00 for the maintenance and upkeep
of a motor cycle to be used by the Chief of Police and any
expenses for uniforms to be worn as the County Commissioners
may prescribe for the Chief of Police. That said Chief of
Police, as aforesaid, shall have control and supervision over
the other members of the police appointed, as aforesaid, and
shall assign the other members of the force to such duties and
at such hours and at such locations as said Chief of Police may
think proper, subject, however, at all times to such orders,
rules and regulations as the County Commissioners may from
time to time prescribe and ordain. That said Chief of Police
shall at all times when on duty be in uniform as prescribed
by said County Commissioners.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the other members
of the Montgomery County Police appointed, as aforesaid, be
and they are hereby required to report to the Chief of Police
immediately after their appointment and qualification, and
at all times shall be under the control and supervision of said
Chief of Police, and each of the members, as aforesaid, shall at
all times while on duty, unless otherwise ordered by the Chief
of Police, wear the uniform and equipment as prescribed by
the County Commissioners, each of whom shall be furnished
with a motor cycle at the expense of the County Commis-
sioners, and each member of said police force shall be required
at his own expense to furnish said uniform and to furnish all
