ing an annual license fee of $25.00 for each fountain so oper-
ated in the City of Baltimore or in each county of this State;
provided that in towns and unincorporated places having a
population of less than one thousand, according to the latest
Federal census, the license fee shall be $10.00 for each foun-
tain so operated.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1922.

CHAPTER 258.

AN ACT to repeal Section 151 of the Code of Public Local
Laws, title ''Montgomery County/' sub-title "County Com-
missioners," and re-enact the same with amendments, pro-
viding for the appointment of an assessor.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 151 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"Montgomery County," sub-title "County Commissioners," be
and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to read as
follows:

Section 151. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners shall on the first
Tuesday in the month of July in the year 1922 appoint some
competent person to be assessor of said county for a term of
four years from the date of his appointment, and every four
years thereafter appoint some competent person to be assessor
of said county, whose duty it shall be by all lawful means to
inform himself of all property of whatsoever nature, including
stocks and bonds and other instruments created or acquired in
said county which is not included in the list of assessments and
shall value the same and make returns of such valuations veri-
fied by affidavit giving the names of the reputed owners of said
property, together with their postoffice addresses and the de-
scription and value as fixed by him of such property to the
County Commissioners, and it shall be the duty of the clerk
to the County Commissioners to mail to the postoffice addresses
of each person as shown by said return a written notice warn-
ing such person of the intention of the County Commissioners
after ten davs from the date of such notice, which date shall be
