gineer thereof, to be County Road Engineer for Kent County
for the term of four years, at a salary of fifteen hundred
($1, 500. 00) dollars a year, payable monthly, and the said
County Road Engineer shall hold his office, and be paid for his
services from the day he enters upon his duties, unless removed
for cause, as hereinafter provided; and the said County Com-
missioners shall make such appointments without any refer-
ence whatever to the political opinions of the persons so ap-
pointed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That nothing in this
Act shall affect the salary of the present County Road Engi-
neer for the term which he is now serving.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1922.

CHAPTER 211.
AN ACT to add five additional sections to Article 2 of the Code
of Public Laws of Maryland, title "Anne Arundel County, "
sub-title "Clerk, " as codified by Ridgely P. Melvin to follow
Section 151 of said Code and to be known as Sections 151A,
151B, 151C, 151D and 151E, the whole to provide for the
recording and preservation of plats in the office of the Clerk
of the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary
land, That five additional sections be and the same are hereby
added to Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, title "Anne Arundel County, " sub-title "Clerk, " said
additional sections to follow Section 151 as codified by Ridgely
P. Melvin and to be known as Sections 151A, 151B, 151C,
151D and 151E of said local code and to read as follows:
Section 151A. No plat shall be received for record by the
Clerk of the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County, unless
the same is drawn in ink, printed or lithographed, upon trac-
ing cloth or linen or paper backed with linen not exceed in di-
mension 36 inches in length by 34 inches in width.
Section 151B. It shall be the duty of the Clerk of the Cir-
cuit Court for Anne Arundel County to record all plats left
