as said sections were amended by Chapter 541 of the Acts
of 1916, and to add a new section to said Article, to be
known as Section 185FF and to follow immediately after

Section 1S5F of said Article, providing for the protection
of fish in Dorchester County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 185F and 185G of Article 10 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Dorchester County, "
sub-title ''Fish, " as said sections were amended by Chapter 541
of the Acts of 1916, be and they are hereby repealed and re-
enacted with amendments, and that a new section be and it is
hereby added to said Article, to be known as Section 185FF
and to follow immediately after Section 185F of said Article;
all of said sections to read as follows:

185F. The owner or owners or occupants of any land bor-
dering on either side of the Transquakin River or any of its
tributaries within a line drawn from Irish Creek to Trans-
quakin Point (said line marking the mouth of the said Trans-
quakin River) to the head of the Transquakin River, shall in
every year have the exclusive right and privilege to select half
the area from natural shore covered by said waters lying di-
rectly in front of the property, extending to but not beyond
the middle of said river, which he or they respectively own
or occupy, for the purpose of setting gill nets, fike nets,
or set nets of any kind or description. Provided, however, that
gill nets, fike nets, or set nets shall not be less than 200 yards
apart. The mesh of nets of any description shall not be less
than three inches in the mesh. Said net or nets shall not ex-
tend into or across any channel. This Act shall also apply in
entirety to all waters of the Chicacomico, Big and Little Black
Water rivers.

185FF. For the purpose of protecting; and propagating game
fish and fishes and preventing unauthorized persons from kill-
ing or taking same, no person or persons unless he or she is a
bona fide resident of Dorchester County, shall fish for. take,
capture or destroy or attempt to fish for, take, capture or de-
stroy by means of hook and line of any description in the fresh
waters of Dorchester County, which shall embrace all ponds,
Big and Little Black Water, Transquakin and Chicacomico
rivers and their tributaries, any game fish of any description
without first having obtained a license so to do from the Clerk
of the Circuit Court of Dorchester County.
