addressed to the Board of Supervisors of Elections setting forth
that they desire the voters of said district, excluding incorpo-
rated towns, to vote upon the question as to whether or not there
shall be a special district levy for road and bridge purposes, and
shall further set forth in said petition the annual tax levy to be
made, which shall not exceed five cents on the $100. 00, and
the number of years the same is to be levied, which shall not ex-
ceed two years, and provided said petition is filed forty days
before any general election. The Board of Supervisors of Elec-
tions shall cause to be printed on the ballot of such road district
at the next general election the proposition presented by such
petition in the following form: "For road tax of ——— cents
for ——— years, " and " Against road tax of ——— cents for ———
years, " using the figures set forth in the petition and providing
a block or box opposite each line on the ballot as in the case of
constitutional amendments. Not more than one proposition in
any district shall be presented at any general election, and if
more than one petition is filed with said Supervisors of Elec-
tions by any road district, that proposition presented by the pe-
tition first filed shall be printed upon the ballot. The sample
ballots relating to any such election shall have printed upon
them the substance of the petition as constitutional amendments
are now required to be printed upon said ballots. The vote on
said proposition shall be canvassed and returned as a vote on
constitutional amendments are now canvassed and returned, ex-
cept that the Board of Supervisors of Elections after final can-
vass shall certify the result of said vote to the County Commis-
sioners of Prince George's County. If the result of such vote as
so certified shall show a majority in favor of a special tax levy,
the County Commissioners shall annually thereafter levy against
the property assessed for purposes of taxation within said road
district, the amount so voted upon, and for the number of years
so voted upon. And the sum so levied shall be expended by the
County Commissioners under the supervision of the district
road committee and the Board of County Commissioners in
said district as its added apportionment. That in any road
district where there is an incorporated town or towns, said in-
corporated town or towns shall be excluded as a part of the
road district asking for the vote on the special tax levy, and
shall not share in the proceeds of said levy, and the property
therein shall be exempt, unless the majority of the taxpayers
in the incorporated town of towns in said district petition the
Supervisors of Elections that the said incorporated town or
