the said amount has been insufficient for the repairing, main-
taining and improving of said County roads, the consequence
of which is an indebtedness due to various persons and corpor-
ations for work done and materials furnished on said County
roads; and whereas, for the purpose of paying said indebted-
ness,
SECTION 1. And be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, that the County Commissioners of Somerset County
be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to include
in their annual levy for the year 1922 such sums of money as
will be necessary to liquidate the indebtedness due by the said
County Commissioners or the County Road Superintendent of
Somerset County to the various persons or corporations to
whom the same may be due at the time of making said levy.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted that this act shall take effect from
June 1st, 1922.

CHAPTER 162.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 218 J
of Article 18 of the Code of Public Local Laws of the State
of Maryland, title "Queen Anne's County, " sub-title
"Queenstown, " as amended and re-enacted by Chapter 309
of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, at its
January Session, 1910, empowering the Commissioners of
Queenstown to compel property holders to erect and build
side walks.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 218 J of Article 18 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of the State of Maryland, Title, "Queen Anne's
County, " sub-title, "Queenstown" as amended and re-enacted
by Chapter 309 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land at its January Session 1910, be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
SEC. 218 J. The width of said sidewalks shall not be less
than four and one-half feet wide and to be built out of con-
crete, and the said Town Commissioners shall determine where
said sidewalks shall be built.
