net surplus be insufficient for the purpose aforesaid, then the
Commissioners of St. Michaels shall annually levy upon the
assessable property of said town of St. Michaels a special tax
to raise such sum or sums of money as shall be necessary to
pay the interest on all of the aforesaid bonds semi-annually as
it shall accrue and One Thousand dollars of the bonds afore-
said, commencing to redeem said bonds July 1, 1924; and the
funds thus arising hereunder shall not be used for any other
purpose than is hereinbefore stated.

CHAPTER 131.
AN ACT to repeal Sections 8, 9, 10, 11, 13 and 17 of Chapter
335 of the Acts of 1902, relating to the Salisbury Building,
Loan and Banking Association, and to repeal and re-enact
with amendments Section 1 and 7 of said Chapter,
Changing the name of said corporation and granting addi-
tional powers to said corporation.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 8, 9, 10, 11, 13 and 17 of Chapter 335 of the
Acts of 1902 be and they are hereby repealed, and that Sections
1 and 7 of said Chapter 335 be and they are hereby repealed
and re-enacted with amendments, to read as follows:
1. The name of the said corporation is hereby changed to
"The Salisbury Building and Loan Association" and by such
name shall have such powers as are now possessed by it under
its original Charter and amendments thereto, except such as
are hereby repealed.
7. The said corporation may invest any part of assets and
earnings in stock of any bank or other financial institution
or in the stocks and bonds of any other corporation that it may
deem prudent and wise, and may vote stock held and owned
by it as aforesaid, as may be ordered by its Board of Directors.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is declared
to be an emergency law and necessary for the immediate pre-
servation of the public health and safety, and having been
passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all
the members elected to each of the two Houses of the General
