fine the duties of said Supervisor and to provide for said
Supervisor's salary and expenses.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Board of Education of Montgomery
County, with the concurrence of the Board of County Com-
missioners, shall appoint during the month of May a super-
visor of school property for a term of four years from the first
day of August next succeeding his appointment, and he shall
hold office until his successor qualifies. The County Board
of Education, with the concurrence of the Board of County
Commissioners, or the Board of County Commissioners with
the concurrence of the County Board of Education, may re-
move such supervisor for immorality, misconduct in office, in-
subordination incompetency, or willful neglect of duty, upon
making known to him, in writing, the charges against him
and upon giving to him an opportunity of being heard in
person or by counsel in his own defense, upon not less than
ten days' notice. In case of vacancy due to any cause, the
County Board of Education, with the concurrence of the Board
of County Commissioners, shall fill the vacancy and the ap-
pointment shall be for a full term of four years, and until a
successor shall qualify, provided that George E. Lewis is
hereby appointed supervisor of school property for a term of
four years from the first day of August, 1922, in accordance
with the provisions of this section.
SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That the supervisor of schoo]
property shall have supervision of the construction, mainte-
nance, and operation of all school buildings, and of the trans-
portation of pupils at public expense, in accordance with the
provisions of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Public
General Laws of Maryland, title ''Public Education," as en-
acted by Chapter 506 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland of 1916; and subsequent re-enactments thereof, to
and including the re-enactment of 1922.
SEC. 3. Be it further enacted, That the supervisor of schoo]
property shall have jurisdiction of the sanitary conditions of
all the buildings and grounds and shall frequently make in-
spection of all school property, and shall take such necessary
action to maintain and keep the most sanitary and efficient
condition possible about any and all of said school property.
That it shall foe the duty of said supervisor to frequently in-
spect and cause.to be made in the school rooms and other build-
ings proper heating, ventilating, and lighting conditions, to
