CHAPTER 511.
AN ACT to authorize the Police Commissioner of Baltimore
City to pay a pension to Thomas A. Berney, a former mem-
ber of the Police Department of said city.
WHEREAS,, Thomas A. Berney was appointed a member of
the Police Department July 26, 1901, and served until Febru-
ary 2, 1905, when he was dismissed; and
WHEREAS, The said Thomas A. Berney was reinstated April
30, 1908, and served until June 6, 1914, when he resigned;
therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Police Commissioner of Baltimore City be and
he is hereby authorized to pay Thomas A. Berney the regular
pension paid to the former members of the Police Department
of similar grade. The said pension to be paid at the same
time and in the same manner as other pensions are paid.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1922.

CHAPTER 512.
AN ACT to direct the County Commissioners of Frederick
County to borrow money on the credit of said county to
purchase or condemn real estate and to pay for the erection,
repair or improvement of public school buildings in Fred-
erick County, or for furnishing or re-furnishing or equip-
ping or re-equipping the same, and to issue bonds therefor,
and to levy on the assessable property in Frederick County
such taxes as may be necessary for the payment of the bonds
hereby authorized to be issued and of the interest thereon
as it becomes due.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Frederick County,
in order to provide the necessary funds to purchase or con-
demn real estate and pay for the erection, repair or improve-
ment, of public school buildings in Frederick County, or for
furnishing or re-furnishing or equipping or re-equipping the
same, are hereby directed to borrow money on the credit of the
