SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Police Commissioner of Baltimore City be and
he is hereby authorized to pay to Charles Slunt, a member of
the Baltimore City police force for twenty-four years from
1873 to 1897, in which latter year he held the rank of Round
Sergeant, out of the funds in his possession or under his con-
trol, a pension during the lifetime of the said Charles Slunt
of the same amount which is paid to a Round Sergeant, to be
paid at such time or dates as other pensions are paid.
SEC. 2 And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1922.

CHAPTER 507.
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 4 of the Code of Pub-
lic Local Laws of Maryland, Revised Edition of 1915, title
"City of Baltimore," sub-title "Police Commissioners," said
section to follow immediately after Section 740 of said Arti-
cle, and to be known as Section 740A; said Section 740A
providing for the designation of an Acting Police Commis-
sioner in the absence of the Police Commissioner; to repeal
and re-enact with amendments Section 741 of the said Arti-
cle; to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections 742,
743 and Section 745 of the said Article as the said sec-
tions were repealed and re-enacted with amendments by
Chapter 3 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land of 1920; to repeal Section 7452 of said Article as
the said section was repealed and re-enacted with amend-
ments by Chapter 3 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland of 1920; to repeal and re-enact with amend-
ments Sections 745D., 745 F and 745G of the said Article;
to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 745 H of
the said Article as the said section was repealed and re-
enacted by Chapter 3 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland of 1920; to repeal and re-enact with amendments
Sections 745I and 745J of the said Article; to repeal and re-
enact with amendments Section 746 of the said Article as the
said section was repealed and re-enacted with amendments
by Chapter 3 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land of 1920; to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sec-
