Command was given to the sheerif of Kent County the 25.th day
of January Anno Dom 1697 that he take Jacob Taylor if he
should be found in his Bailiwick and him safe Keepe soe that
he have his Body before his Maj.ties Justices att the next Court
to Answer unto Sam.l Tovey of a plea of Trespasse upon the case

Att which Court viz the 15.th day of Feb.ry Anno Dom 1697 the
day of returne of said Writt came Cap.t Edward Sweatnam high
sheerif of sd County and made returne of sd Writt in these words
Following   Cepi Edw Sweatnam sheft

On which said day the sd Defend.t by Michael Earle his Att.ry
appeares and prayes therof to Imparle until next Court which was
granted the same day is given to the plt allsoe

Which said cause fs being continued from Court to Court until this
present day

And now here att this day came as well the sd plt by Richard
Macklin his Att.ry as allsoe the said Defend.t by his said Att.ry
the said cause standing for Tryal y.e Plt declares viz

Kent fs  Jacob Taylor of sd County Shippwright stands Attached
to Answer Sam.l Tovey of sd County of a plea of Trespasse upon
the case

And Whereupon the said Sam.l Tovey by Richard Macklin his
Att.ry complains and saith that Whereas the said Jacob Taylor
in June 1697 in said County within the Jurisdicon of this
