Att which Court viz the 28.th day of June Anno Dom 1698 the
day of returne of sd Writt came Cap.t Edward Sweatnam high sheerif
of sd County and made returne of sd Writt in these words following
Cepi Edw Sweatnam sheft

On which said Day the sd Defend.t in his proper person comes
into Court and confesseth Judgment

Therfore it is considered by this Court that the plt Henry
Carter doe recover from the Defd.t as well the aforesd sume of
Five hundred and Fifty poundes of Tobaccoe as allsoe the sume of
One Hundred Ninety and Nine poundes of Tobaccoe cost of suit

Command was given to the sheerif of Kent County y.e 28.th day
of April Anno Dom 1698 that he take John Trenary if he should
be found in his Bailiwick and him safe Keepe soe that he have
his Body before his Maj.ties Justices att the next Court to Answer
unto John Carter of a plea that he render him 420.ll of Tobaccoe
