Att a Court held for Kent County y.e 23.th day of Feb.ry
in the Tenth Yeare of the Reigne of William the Third of
England Scotland France and Ireland King &c.a Annoq Dom

                                  1687

This day being by Order of Court Appointed for the
Electing of Four Deligates or Representatives persuant
to a Certain Writt directed to the sheerif of this County
bearing date the   day of                     Anno Dom 1697

The Court being sett Ordered that the Electors be called to
heare the above menconed Writt and Proclamacon being by
the Cryer accordingly made and a very large appearance The
Writt is Publickly in Court read by the sheerif which being
performed the Court giveth the Electors som caution and
Advice and then Orders them to pceed to their Elecon

Maj.r Thomas Smyth and M.r Michael Miller are by the sd
Electors chosen Nomine contradicente and are brought in
and presented to this Court to see their Indentures signed

And the said Electors againe proceed and som vote for M.r
William Harris and others for M.r John Whittington and y.e
sd Executors on Each side desired a pole w.ch being pformed found
that M.r John Whittington carried y.e same by several votes

And the said Electors farther pceed and choose Simon Wilmer who
makes up the Number menconed in said Writt all which said Deleg=
ates being brought into Court the sheerif signed for each of them
an Indenture according to the [illegible] of sd Writt
