Which sd Indictm.t being Read the sd Thomas Smith
submits to this Court and is by order of sd Court
discharged from sd presentm.t

Richard Dawson being presented p y.e Grand Jury
in November last for breaking open the house of
W.m Sigley

Command was therfore Given to the sheerif of Kent
County y.e 25.th day of November Anno Dom 1697
that he cause the sd Richard Dawson soe that he be
and appeare before his Maj.ties Justices att the next
Court to Answer &c.a

Att which Court viz the 15.th day of February the day
of Returne of sd writt came Cap.t Edward Sweatnam
high sheerif of sd County and made Returne of sd writt
in these words    Cepi p Edward Sweatnam sheft

And now here att this day came the sd Richard Dawson
In his proper person to Answer the sd presentm.t being
formed into an Indictm.t p the Clk of the Indictm.ts w.ch
sd Indictm.t is Read in those words viz

Kent fs     The Jurors for our Soveraigne Lord the King that
                now is for Kent County upon their Oathes doe p.rsent
                Richard Dawson of Kent County Planter for that he
the sd Richard upon y.e 26.th day of December Anno Dom 16
1696 att Towne hundred in Kent County aforesd within the
Jurisdicon of this Court by force and Armes viz with
swords staves and Knives into the ^dwelling^ house of a certaine
William Sigley he did Enter and other harmes to him he
did to the great damage of the sd W.m Sigley and ag.t the
Soveraigne Lord the King    Macklin p Dom Rege
