814 Command was given to the sheerif of Kent County the 25.th day of June Anno Dom 1697 to take Peter Peterson if he should be found in his Bailiwick and him safe Keepe soe that he have his Body before his Maj.ties Justices att the next Court to Answer unto Thomas Bruff of a Plea that he render unto him 1150.ll of Tobaccoe which &c.a Att which Court viz the 24.th day of August Anno Dom 1697 the day of Returne of sd writt came Cap.t Edward Sweatnam high sheerif of sd County and made returne of sd Writt in those words Following Cepi p Edw Sweatnam sheeft On which said day the Defend.t by Richard Macklin his Attorney appeares and prayes therof to Imparle until next Court which was granted the same day is given to the plt likewise Which said cause being continued from Court to Court until this present day And Now here att this day viz the 24.th day of November Anno Dom 1697 the said cause standing for Tryal came as well the sd Plt by Michael Earle his Attorney as allsoe the defend.t by Richard Macklin his Attorney and the Plt declares viz
the same County of a plea that he render him the full and just sume of Eleaven hundred and Fifty poundes of good sound Merchantable Tobaccoe in caske which to him he oweth and from him he unjustly deteineth And whereupon the sd Thomas by Michael Earle his Att.ry saith that whereas the sd Peter on the 1.st day of December Anno Dom 1687 in sd County within the Jurisdicon of this Court by his Cert |
