Att which Court viz the 22.th day of June Anno Dom 1697 the day
of Returne of sd Writt came Cap.t Edward Sweatnam high sheerif
of sd County and made Returne of sd Writt in these following words

On which day came the said Daniel Norris by Richard Macklin
his Attorney and prayes therof to Imperle until the Next Court
which was Granted the same day is given to the Plt allsoe
and Now here att this day viz the 25.th day of August Anno
Dom 1697 came as Well the said Plt by Thomas Coursey her
Attorney as the sd Defend.t by Richard Macklin his Attorney &
the said Accon standing for Tryal

Kent fs  Daniel Norris otherwise
called Daniel Norris of Kent County
in the Province of Maryland Mason was summoned to Answer
unto Eliz.a Coursey Adm.rx of Thomas Blackader of Talbot County
Deced of a plea that he render her the full and just sume of Twelve
hundred and Twenty poundes of good sound and Every way well condiconed
Tobaccoe in caske which from her he unjustly deteineth

And Wherupon the said Eliz.a in her Capacity by Thomas Coursey her
Att.ry saith that wheras the said Daniel on the 16.th day of March Anno
1685/6 in sd County within the Jurisdicon of this Court by his certain
bill or Writing obligatory sealed with his seale as his Act and deed
delivered and here in Court brought whose date is the same day
and Yeare did Acknowledge himselfe to Owe and stand Justly indeted
indebted unto the said Thomas in his life time the sd sume of 1220.ll
of Tobaccoe quallified as aforesd to be paid conveniently in Chester
River att or upon the 10.th day of October next Ensueing for the
true and faithfull paym.t wherof he the said Daniel did bind him
selfe his Heires Exet.rs and Adm.rs firmely by the said Bill Yett
Notwithstanding the said Daniel the sd sume of 1220.ll of Tobaccoe according
to the Ten.r of the same bill unto the said Thomas in his life time
he did not pay nor to the said Eliz.a in her capacity since the Death
of him the said Tho he hath not paid but the same to pay he hath
denied and refused and still done deny and refuse to the damage of
the said Testat.rs Estate the sume of 2440.ll of Tobaccoe and therupon
she brings this suit and here in Court she brings her Letters of Adm.rn
