766 Jonathan Scooling and John Hendrickson being presented by the Grand Jury in March last not setting up cask according to Act of Assembly Provided in such case Command was therfore given to the sheerif of Kent County the 25.th day of June Anno Dom 1697 to Cause the said Jonathan Scooling and John Hendrickson if they should be found in his Bailiwick to come before his Maj.ties Justices att y.e Next Court to Answer &c.a Att which Court viz the 24.th day of August Anno Dom 1697 the day of Returne of sd Writt came Capt Edward Sweatnam high sheerif of said County and made returne of said Writt in these Words following viz Cepi Corpora p Edw Sweatnam sheft And now here att this day viz the 25.th day of August Anno Dom 1697 came the said Jonathan Scooling and John Hendrickson and submit themselves to this Court and the said Jonathan makeing it appeare to this Court that he had been visited with a long & tedious sicknesse when they should have worked upon such cask as they the said Jonathan and John had undertaken to sett up It is therfore Ordered by this Court that the said Jonathan Scooling and John Hendrickson be discharged from the said presentm.t Simon Wilmer Clk Tryal Dockett called Command was Given to the sheerif of Kent County the 28.th day of Jan.ry Anno Dom 1696 to take John Offley if should be found in his Bailiwick and him safe Keepe soe that he have his Body before his Maj.ties Justices att the Next Court to Answer unto James Smith Gent of a plea that he Rend.r unto him 8181.ll of Tobaccoe Att which Court viz the 23.th day of March Anno Dom 1696 the day of Returne of sd Writt came Cap.t Edward Sweatnam high sherif of said County and made returne of said Writt in the following words viz Cepi p me Edw Sweatnam sheft |
