Command was given to y.e sheerif of Kent County y.e 28.th day of Jan.ry Anno
Dom 1696 to Attach any the goods Chattels Debts or Credits of Jn.o
Bond Mariner if they should be found in his Bailiwick to satisfie unto
James Smith a certaine Debt and cost recovered ag.t him y.e 28.th day of
October last &c.a And that by good and Lawfull men he make Knowne
in whose hands he make y.e same Attachm.t &c.a that he she or they be
personally present before his Maj.ties Justices att the Next Court to shew
cause &c.a

Att which Court viz the 23.th day of March Anno Dom 1696 the
day of Returne of the sd Writt came Capt Edward Sweatnam high
sheerif of sd County and made returne of sd Writt in these words viz
I have Attached of the goods of Jn.o Bond to the value of Eight hundred
Eighty and Two poundes of Tobaccoe in the hands of M.r Jn.o Hawkins made
Knowne before Two good and lawfull men of my Bailiwick Jn.o Hacker &
Tho Ruth p me Edw Sweatnam sheft



Command was given to the sheerif of Kent County y.e 28.th day of Jan.ry
Anno Dom 1696 to take Jonathan Newton if he should be found in his
Bailiwick and him safe Keepe soe that he have his Body before his
Maj.ties Justices att y.e Next Court to Answer unto James Ringgold of
a plea that he Render unto him Eight hundred poundes of Tobaccoe
&c.a

Att which Court viz y.e 23.th day of March Anno Dom 1696 came Capt
Edward Sweatnam high sheerif of sd County and made returne of
sd Writt in these Words viz Cepi p Edw Sweatnam sheff

And now here att this day the sd cause standing for Tryal came the
sd James Ringgold by Griffith Jones his Attorney and allsoe y.e sd Jonathan
Newton by W.m Hemsley his Attorney
