France and Ireland King defend.r of the faith &c.a To the sheerif
of Kent County Greeting Whereas att a Court held att M.r Daniel
Norris his Plantacon by our Justices of our County of Kent
the 30.th day of October last for Assessing the said County Leavy
or Tax and that it doth appeare that the said charge Amounts
to the sume of Thirty Two Thowsand Nine hundred and sixty
poundes of Tobaccoe And allsoe that there is assessed upon
Every Taxable person the sume of Forty poundes of Tobacco
p pole by vertuie of an Act Assembly made att the Port
of Annapolis the Tenth day of July last Entitled an Act
for the service of Almighty God and the Establshm.t of the
Protestant Religion both which sumes amounts to Fifty Three
Thowsand Five hundred and sixty poundes of Tobaccoe att
One hundred and Four poundes of Tobaccoe p pole there being
[illegible] Five hundred and fifteene Taxables for our said County
Wee command You therfore that of every Taxable person within
the same You Leavy by way of Execucon on their persons or
Estates the said sume of 104.ll Tob p pole And that the First
of the said sumes being 32960.ll Tob You make punctual and
speedy payment therof to the persons above Named according
to their several proportions to them Alloted as above
