Kent fs William Ford of Kent County planter standeth attached to Answer unto John Joce of Bithyford in England M.rcht of a plea Tres upon the Case &c.a Wherupon the said John Joce by Griffith Jones his Attorney complaineth that the said Ford within the Jurisdicon of the Court stood Justly indebted to the said Joce for several goods and Merchadise sould and delivered to him the said Ford to the value of One pound sixteen shillings of sterl money of England being the Ball.a of Fower poundes six shillings sterl as by his acc.o dated the 9.th day of April and May y.e 28.th Anno 1696 and here in Court produced may now att large appeare which said sum of monie alltho often demanded by the said Joce Yett the said Ford little regarding but plotting contriveing and fraudulently intending to deceive him the said Joce of the aforesaid sume of One pound sixteene ^shillings^ he hath not paid but hitherto to pay hath wholly refused and denied to the damage of him the said Joce Two pound Twelve shilling sterl and therupon he bringeth his suit Jones p qr Jn.o Doe pledges Ri Roe And the Defend.t produceing and accompt ag.t the sume laid in the Declaracon Judgment is Awarded for the Ball.a being Three shillings sterl Therfore it is considered by this Court that the Plt John Joce doe Recover as well the aforesaid sume of Three shillings sterl money of England as allsoe the sume of Two hundred Twenty and Three poundes of Tobaccoe cost of suit Simon Wilmer Clk |
