The Reasons before Recited being read with the Replicacon
therto and being pleaded to by Hemsley on behalfe of the defend.t
and likewise by Jones on behalfe of the plt and the Court due
duely considering the same Judgm.t is Awarded that the said
Reasons are valid and sufficient to stay the aforsaid Judgm.t

Debt Declar viz

Kent fs     Jn.o Lewis otherwise called John Lewis of Kent County
                Taylor standeth attached to Answer unto Thomas Coursey
                of the aforesd County Ex.r of the last will and Testament
                of Coll Henry Coursey of ^Talbot County of^ a plea of Debt &c.a

Wherupon the said Thomas Coursey by Griffith Jones his Att.rny
complaineth and saith that wherupon the said John Lewis
within the Jurisdicon of this Court stood justly indebted to the
said Henry Coursey the full and just sume of five hundred
and fifty poundes of tobaccoe in caske att one intire paym.t
as by his obligacon here in Court produced may more att
large appeare bearing date in June Anno 1694 Yett the
aforesaid John Lewis the often demanded the aforesd sume
of Five hundred and fifty poundes of Tobaccoe to the same
Henry Coursey in his life time hath not paid or to the sd
Thomas in his Capacity after the death of the aforesd Henry
Coursey hath not rendred but the same to render hath denied
and still doth deny and unjustly deteine wherupon he saith
he is damnified and hath dammage to the value of Eleaven
hundred poundes of Tob and therupon he bringeth his suit
