                            John Webster Viz.t             &c

This Indenture made y.e one Steentieth Day of Septemb.r In y.e [illegible]
of y.e s.d Dominion of Charles Absolute Lord & Propriatary of y.e s.d Province
of Maryland & Avalon Lord Barron of Baltemore &c: Ann q Dom
one Thousand Six Hundred Seventy & Eight Between John Webster of
y.e County of Sumersett in y.e Province of Maryland plant.r on the one partt
And Thomas Cooper of Kent County in Kent County Wittnesseth That y.e
s.d John Webster for & Consideration of three Thousand pounds of tobacco
to him in hand payed by y.e s.d Thomas Cooper of the County of Kent & Afores.d
The Receipt whereof I Doe hereby Acknowledg & thereof & of every partt
thereof & parsell thereof: Doe hereby Clearly to Absolutely Exonerate & aquit
& Discharge him y.e s.d Thomas his heirs Executo.rs Administrators or Assignes
for Ever by these p.rsents Hath given Granted Bargaind sould Aliend &
in feese & Confirmed & by these p.rsents: give grant Bargaine Alien sell
Enfeoffe & Confirme: Unto y.e s.d Thomas Cooper his heirs & Assignes for
ever: All that parcell of Land Lying on the East side of y.e Island of Kent
bounding on William Vaughan on y.e south & W.m Grandger on y.e East & William
Bishop & Robert Palmer on y.e North & Chesipeck Bay on the West
Containing & now Laied out for Eight Acres more Less: Together w.th in Rights
Proffitts & benifitts thereunto Belonging: And also all Pattents Charges
Evidences Touching or in any wayes Concerning y.e same To have & To hold
the s.d Parcell of Land & Bargained Premisses: To y.e s.d Thomas Cooper
his heirs & Assignes For Ever: To the only proper us & Behoof of him y.e s.d
Thomas Cooper his heirs & Assignes for Ever: And y.e s.d John Webster
for himselfe his Executors Administrators & Assigness Doth hereby promise
And grante To & w.th him y.e s.d Thomas Cooper his heirs & Assignes: That he y.e
s.d John Webster his heirs Execut.rs Administrators y.e s.d tractt of Land To him
y.e s.d Thomas Cooper his heirs & Assignes Against all & Every manner of
Persons what so Ever shall & will for Ever hereafter warrant & Defend
by these p.rsents: The rents & services hereafter During the space of seven
yeares of y.e Request Cost & Charges in y.e Law of him y.e s.d Thomas Cooper
his heirs & Assignes: make & Doe & Acknowledge Execute & suffer Cause
